Tidy up works on the 6 km section from Hart Drive to Bindoon are approaching completion. These are the final construction works for this project and are scheduled to be completed by late June. Planting of seedlings in disturbed areas will commence this week with assistance from Greening Australia.
 
The Access Alliance worked concurrently on four separate sections of Great Northern Highway. The works undertaken in each of these sections are detailed below. You can view a location map of these areas by clicking here
 
Great Northern Highway, Brand Highway and Muchea East Road Intersection
Works Overview: Intersection widening and realignment, installation of traffic signals and sensor technology
Anticipated completion date: March 2010
Final completion date (signs & lines): April 2010

Blue Plains Road overtaking lane extension
Works Overview: Extension of overtaking lane
Anticipated completion date: May 2010
Final completion date (signs & lines): May 2010
Current Status:  
  • Works complete. 110 km/hr through area. Please drive according to conditions.
Bindoon South: Hart Drive to Tea Tree Road, Flat Rocks Road vicinity
Works Overview: Road widening and realignment
Anticipated completion date: June 2010
Current Status:  
  • Tidy up works underway
Bindoon (Longbridge Gully) to New Norcia
Works Overview: Road widening and realignment, construction of passing lanes, surface correction and other minor works as directed by Main Roads.
Practical completion date: December 2009
Final completion date (signs & lines): March 2010
