Access Alliance is planning to design and/or upgrade sections of the Great Northern Highway between Muchea and Wubin as part of Main Road’s overall upgrade program.

Our planned works include:

• Upgrading the Great Northern Highway, Brand Highway, Muchea East Road intersection to improve safety and cater for the anticipated increase in traffic and vehicle size after the new Livestock Centre established on Muchea East Road opens
• Improving traffic flows for vehicles entering and exiting the Chittering Roadhouse through the addition of turning pockets and an acceleration lane. This site will then be able to be a significant refuelling point for road trains
• Increasing road seal width in upgrade areas to meet current and future traffic requirements.
• Lowering selected hill crests to increase length of vision and improve safety.
• Realigning sections and adding passing lanes to reduce travel time and improve safety
• Upgrading selected side road intersections and driveway locations to improve visibility and safety
• Improving road reserve drainage
• Minimising the extent of vegetation clearing and re-establishing vegetation to offset losses.
• Installing and relocating services to accommodate roadworks as required

Our construction works extend along various sections of the highway between Muchea and Bind Bindi. To facilitate design and delivery the Access Alliance team has divided the work into a series of packages. By creating distinct packages of work the team is able to focus on the task at hand and achieve outcomes consistent with client and community expectations.
